What is it about all these young girls that want to sail around the world? Sailing solo around the world is a daunting challenge for the most veteran sailors, but even more impressive for a 16 year old to try. A few months back we mentioned Jessica Watson, who is almost half way through her journey, and now sixteen year old Abby Sunderland is also trying to break the world record for the youngest person to circumnavigate the world non-stop. I couldn’t imagine being the parents of a child who is attempting such a feat, but it is pretty inspiring as well. Come home safely girls.

sailing is funstuff, i wish i could afford a fast sailing boat”:”
Abby Sunderland has been reunited with her brother Zac on Reunion Island off the east Africa coast. http://www.ajc.com/news/nation-world/us-teen-sailor-reunited-557311.html
According to Abby’s Parents on her Blog, http://soloround.blogspot.com/, Abby has been found and communication has been made. She is still 24hrs away from a rescue but they feel optimistic that all is OK.
It has just been reported that Abby Sunderland is lost at sea after serious storms hit the area she was sailing in.
