ABC (link) reports on 16 year old Jessica Watson’s departure on her attempt to become the youngest person to sail solo, non-stop, around the world. You can decide if you want to bring this one up with your kids. On one hand it would be a major accomplishment for someone so young but I would not want my kids attempting it. There has been a lot of pressure on the parents to stop their daughter from attempting such a dangerous trip but they are confident that she is competent enough of a sailor to complete the journey.
