What a great time we had! We enjoyed digging and naming and advising on the various perennials and shrubs in your garden...and thanks to the children, we got to see up close some wonderful worms and bugs. Thanks for lunch in the garden - and our best advice is to enjoy and be sure to smell the roses!! (Try using Sky Rocket - a natural made in the Comox Valley product - amazing results with veggies and flowers)

Hi Erin,
That's a good question. I've also decided to try the more environmental approach. We are also using fish fertilizer and Miracle Grow makes a slow release organic formula now, so we're try that too. I've also been looking for corn gluten meal. It's suppose to be a good organic solution for weeds. I haven't been able to find it yet.

Awesome, Lisa! You'll have so much fun with the garden with so much information from the previous owners!! Which fertilizer are you going with? We are currently looking at fish fertilizer...a bit on the stinky side, but not dangerous to animals, kids or the ecosystem...just our noses :)
