CSI episode...very cool. I also discovered that there was a thriller called 'GPS the Movie' a few years back which was also about geocaching. Our GPSr is the Garmin Oregon 200. This was a Costco special including topographic maps bought last year. We really like ours and even though there are fancier models we manage fine with ours. There are also less expensive models that would work fine for geocaching as well.

Features we like for geocaching on our GPSr are: geocache specific mode. This allows information from geocaching.com to be transferred to the unit so you can go paperless. Otherwise for more challenging caches (ones you need more info than just the waypoint) you would need to print up the info sheet before you. We also like the topographic maps as it gives you road and terrain info to help you plan your route better. Again, I will not call myself an expert so I would recommend looking at online reviews including the geocaching.com forums. If you have any specific questions or would like an opinion on particular units let me know and I will see if I can give you more info. Before you buy new you may want to look at Kijiji, Craigslist, or others and see what you can find used.

CSI used geoching in an episode. Demonstrated the geocache concept well. Have you ever told us what GPS you are using? I know that you probably don't want to promote any specific brand. Mrs huddler took her class out geocaching and had fun. We are thinking about a GPS to add to our summer fun our kids. What are some of the features that you find important?

A horror movie could involve Geocaching and a serial killer??
Last summer here in the UK there was a murderer who cut up a body and dumped and arm, a leg, and a head in various places around the countryside. Some of the pieces were quite local to me.
I decided not to go caching for a couple of weeks.

You are correct that I cannot let a weakness bother me. I just need to find a better way to solving the days problems then by eating junk food. Getting out hiking is one way but not always possible when you have to stay with the kids.

you can't feel guilty about an icecream. While treats are better when you plan to have them; guilt will get you nowhere. I did the same thing with chips yesterday at teh end of a stressful day of work; but you let it go and start the next day
