		<description>Thank you for the comment.  It is never too late to make a change.  In North America, especially in the west, our cities are so spread out that people have become dependent on driving everywhere.  There are a strong minority who walk and cycle instead of driving but the majority drive everywhere.  
It has taken me a while to find shoes that are comfortable and they sure make a difference, especially being so heavy.  
I enjoy doing geocaches of all different types; variety is good.  The 1000 geocache number I am doing on the challenge is arbitrary which is why I included the 2500km goal as well.  I know people who have done close to 100 caches in a day and to do drove to each location.  I am doing the same caches but I am walking to each location instead.  I figure if I meet my distance target and make changes to my diet than I will lost the weight, and why not find a few caches along the way.</description>

		<description>Great post and so many of us can relate to this idea of being active as a kid/teen, then suddenly stopping and one day realising that all our earlier fitness has disappeared and we are that fat old person we never thought we would become. 

I love that you are doing some multis as well and not just counting up how many tradis you can collect.  

I am with you on the outdoors vs. a gym.  I cycle to work most days and it takes me almost an hour each way.  I think I&#039;d go nuts if I had to cycle indoors in a gym for more than 5 mins, let alone two hours.  Yet even in the freezing cold, I look forward to it every day and am really missing it since I can&#039;t do it in the snow. 

I probably don&#039;t need to tell you this, but spend as much as you can on shoes.  I used to do a lot of walking until one day I bought some new shoes which triggered an inflammation of my plantar tendon under my foot. They were actually not bad shoes, but I let a salesman tell me that running shoes are fine for walking.  They aren&#039;t because you roll off your heel differently in both activities.  Since then it keeps flaring up so my walking is somewhat limited.  I cycle a lot now, which is just as good.
