We had one of the quintessential spring outings with the kids last week. We went to visit a small farm that belongs to my cousin in Fanny Bay, BC. They call themselves Snapdragon Dairy. Here are a few links describing what they do. One from Infocus Magazine and one from Eyes On BC. We didn’t have any crazy things happen to write about; no crying fits, kids falling in the mud, bites, cuts or bruises. We just had a great time visiting the animals and family.
Annika got to milk a goat, which was her first time ever milking any kind of animal, and she was very pleased with herself. The kids (goats) were a hit with our kids and they played with each other for quite some time. Jada was a bit afraid of the animals at first, which she always is, but she soon felt comfortable enough to enjoy the goats, chickens, ducks, and dogs.
After about an hour and a bit of rain we all piled back in the van, now with two dozen eggs and muddy boots, and headed back home for lunch and a nap. I think it is great to have the opportunity to show our kids a bit of farm life and get them accustomed to animals. The kids (ours) sure want another visit soon.

Hi Lisa,
That was great. The pictures are really good too. I really like the one of Poppet (big white dog). I think it shows how small your kids are. They sure are cute.
Come again soon. We have chicks now too.
